Matteo Negri

Matteo Negri is interested in the perceptive role of surface and colour, both in the field of sculpture and in artworks of a two-dimensional nature. He uses geometrical aspect, chromatic variability and mirror reflection to alter the perception of volumes and planes. Negri’s preferred materials, aluminium, coloured paper, glass and iridescent films, allow him to go beyond a static and monolithic vision of art. The works are not fixed and absolute in form. They kinetically enter into a relationship with their environment and with their observer, who in turn, in some way, contaminate the works in a game of continuous visual reflex.

 

Matteo Negri was born in San Donato Milanese, Milan in 1982. He lives and works in Milan.
