Biography
Kaja Clara Joo
Kaja Clara Joo was born 1991 in Vienna, Austria.
Joo’s works position themselves at the interface between sculpture and photography. Her focus lies on cultural or social phenomena as well as behavioural patterns.
The medium of photography is often used as an additional physical process in the stage of creating sculptures: an intervening moment between tactile and relational traces. Carefully choreographed fragments of materials reveal components of a larger and staged narrative.
Kaja Cara Joo lives and works in Vienna and Neulengbach. She studied TransArts as well as Fine Arts Photography with Gabriele Rothemann at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
