Markus Redl’s graphic, sculptural, and literary works are about more than the simple, visible narrative. Redl continually seeks to engage with the world through his extensive knowledge of literature, natural sciences, and philosophy. It is an attempt to at least begin to understand it.

From 1997 to 1998, he studied psychology at the University of Vienna and
from 1998 to 2004 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Ingeborg Strobl and Erwin Wurm.
